We build software for a living, so we know how easily data gets collected and how rarely it gets explained. This page says what Elix collects through elix.lk, why, who sees it, and how to get it removed.

Who we are
Elix (“Elix”, “we”, “us”) is a web and software development company based in Colombo, Sri Lanka. We operate elix.lk and are the controller of the personal data described here.

What we collect
We collect information in three ways.
- Contact form: your name, email address, phone number, the service you're interested in, and the message you write. Everything is optional beyond what the form marks as required.
- Messages you send us directly on WhatsApp or by email, which we keep for as long as the conversation is useful.
- Usage data: page views, referrer, country, device and browser type, gathered by Vercel Web Analytics. It is aggregated, does not use cookies, and is not used to identify you personally.
- If you accept cookies: Google Analytics 4 and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel record which pages you visit and whether you contact us, using cookie identifiers and your IP address. Without your consent they never load.
How we use it
We use your information to:
- Reply to your enquiry and prepare a proposal.
- Run, secure and improve the website, including blocking spam and abuse.
- With your consent, measure which pages and campaigns bring enquiries, and show Elix ads to people who visited the site.
- Meet legal, tax and accounting obligations if you become a client.
Who sees it
We don't sell or rent personal data. A few services process it on our behalf:
- Telegram: contact form submissions are forwarded to a private Telegram chat that only the Elix team can read. Submissions are not stored in a database on our side.
- Vercel: hosting-related analytics, as described above.
- Google (Analytics 4) and Meta (Pixel): only if you accept cookies. They receive your browsing activity on elix.lk and act under their own privacy policies.
- WhatsApp (Meta): if you choose to message us there, Meta handles that conversation under its own terms.
- YouTube (Google): some project pages embed videos. Playing one may set Google cookies under Google's own policy.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that don't lead to a project are kept for up to 12 months in case you come back, then deleted. Client records and invoices are kept for as long as Sri Lankan tax and accounting rules require. Analytics are aggregated and hold no personal profile to delete.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, form input is validated and rate-limited on the server, and access to the Telegram chat is limited to the team. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't send passwords or payment card numbers through the form.
Your rights
Under Sri Lanka's Personal Data Protection Act, No. 9 of 2022, and general good practice, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal data we hold about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete your data, or stop using it for a given purpose.
- Withdraw consent you previously gave.
Children
Our services are for businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you think a child has sent us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this page we update the date at the top (currently 8 October 2026). Material changes will be called out on the site.
